Larry brings a chukar from the unlikely-looking collection of wet feathers to this attractive mount.  A running/flying mount is an option for mounting a flying bird on a table-base.  Curl one foot up like Larry did.  Attach bird to base with wire through other leg.  Tip the bird forward to give the illusion of action and momentum.

Larry used an oval wooden base with "virtual dirt" (Elmer's glue and peat moss) and a nicely-sized piece of driftwood.

A great mount.  And a great idea for a retail item.  Have a few made up ahead of time at Christmas.  You won't have a whole lot of money or time in them, and these (or quail) make great gifts.
