To order a form, rehydrate hide to measure. 

Sweat the hide to rehydrate.  Follow tanner’s instructions for rehydrating dry-tanned cape.  If you don’t know who tanned the cape, use cold water (with salt 1 cup) .  Soak hide for 30 to 45 minutes, submerged.  Hang to drip dry for an hour.  Roll up with head inside.  Place in plastic bag.  Refrigerate overnight. 

The next morning, remove from fridge.  Stretch hide gently to pull into shape.  Hides often stretch out long while hanging in storage.  Pull strongly across girth pull some of the stretch-out-ed-ness out of hide.  If hide is tubed, cut down back from bass of skull to base of tail.  Stretch across girth and face. 

Measure hide at following points to order form: 

Eye to nose.  (A)  Form measurement can be equal to, or 1/4” shorter.

Nose to tail.  (D)  Order form 2” smaller than hide measurement.

Girth measurement. ( C ) Measure hide behind ribs.  Order form at same measurement.
